Amal Sabrie joined GAPS in October 2019 as the GAPS Network Assistant. She completed her Master’s in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science where she applied a feminist lens to conflict, security, peacebuilding and militarisation, before this she studied Politics & International Relations at the University of Westminster. Her research focus is on gender essentialism and women and girls’ experiences in conflict zones and post-conflict society, with regional focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. Amal has a background in supporting local NGOs in volunteer roles and has interned for an elected official.
