Women’s participation in forest management in conflict-affected areas of Karen state in Myanmar

This report by International Alert brings a gender analysis to forest management and offers an opening for an inclusive gender-transformative approach that is conducive to building sustainable positive peace. This report builds on previous research by International Alert which explores the key role that gender plays in opportunities for peace-building.

‘A global force for good’: Four pillars for UK leadership on gender equality

This paper by ActionAid UK combines evidence from analysing UK’s aid spend with their technical expertise from working on the frontline to provide practical recommendations to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). This paper focuses on four key pillars that will put the UK in a global leadership position and make a lasting difference to the world’s poorest women and girls.

Halting Lives: The Impact of COVID-19 on Girls and Young Women

Plan International’s report looks specifically at the impact of COVID-19 on girls and young women, collecting data from over 7,000 girls across 14 countries. This report includes extracts from interviews with young women, reflecting on the impact COVID-19 has had on their lives in Mozambique, Brazil, Ghana and Nicaragua.

Mapping Women, Peace and Security in the UN Security Council: 2019

This policy brief outlines the findings from the NGO Working Group on Women, Peace and Security (NGOWG) monitoring and analysis of the United Nations Security Council’s daily work over the course of 2019. In this policy brief, the NGOWG look at the failure of the Security Council to systematically integrate Women, Peace and Security into its actions.
